Eva Way’s State Map
The collections of Eva Blount Way (1869-1962) form the core of the Belhaven Memorial Museum in Beaufort County. Buttons were her first collecting love and she amassed approximately 30,000 of them. In this assemblage, different colored buttons delineate North Carolina’s 100 counties.

Bear received the engraved gold-handled cane in 1876 while congregation President of the Temple of Israel in Wilmington. Bear was a dry goods merchant in downtown Wilmington who, along with his sons, went on to establish the largest winery in the South prior to Prohibition.
